I reckon it was all just a massive oversight. That has to be the only excuse, as we’ve never written about Let’s Buy Happiness. Not once.

Now’s as good of a time as any, as their new single “Works Better on Paper” is due for release on 11th June. And much like their body of work up to this point, this is another brilliant tune, that filters their northern perspective through a litany of classic American indie rock.

Over the past few years, they’ve quickly moved from playing the odd local gig around Newcastle to getting noticed all over the country, as well as a few important nods from the likes of BBC Radio 6, Radio 1, and Drowned in Sound. The Guardian put it best when they described lead singer Sarah Hall as “…a voice that connotes angelic purity.” Moving stuff, this.

Whilst many of our favourite blogs have given the band their fair share of bandwidth already, I suppose we were waiting for the right time. And this single is that time. If you’re turned off by buzz, you may want to do your best to tune it out cos this band is worth it. Every positive word you read about them is deserved, and if you’ve yet to see them, you’re missing a well good time.
