Pop music has always been a little strange, but the sounds that Age of Consent create are positively mental. Falling somewhere between comfortable and creepy, their second single “Heartbreak” is what should be filling the airwaves of Radio 1. Whilst this tune pushes the envelope, there are enough hooks here for the normal people in your life. It’s nowt but a gateway drug into the strange world of London after dark.

The group, made up of Joe Reeves and Darren Cullen, met at art school in Glasgow and later moved to London to make music and work on remixes. If you’re down in the capital, then you have a few options to see them. The single is out from 11/06. Dates below.

18th May – Queen of Hoxton – w/ Spektrum
13th June – The Macbeth – Single launch show – w/ T.W.I.N.S
