Whilst I’ve been to a gig from Wakefield’s The Passing Fancy in the past, unfortunately they were one of those bands I forgot about, mostly due to the glut of good music out there these days. It was only because of a lovely natter on Twitter with them that I was able to jog my memory.

They are a charming, rather whimsical group who have seeded a handful of releases out our way already. Each subsequent release sees the band group, and their track on Rhubarb Bomb’s “The City Consumes Us”, “Escobarred” is their finest moment yet. It’s everything you want a band to be – creative, fun, and compelling enough to come back for more.

If you’re about for Long Division on 1 June, they play midday at The Hop. The full lineup is listed at Leeds Music Scene.
