Whilst it’s easy to say you like folk music and ring off names like Mumford and Sons, Johnny Flynn, and Laura Marling, what we’re missing here is the authenticity of truly classic folk music. This is not meant to slag off artist that I think are well good, but it’s important to view the entire spectrum of a genre.

Surrey three-piece Wildeflower are well aware of how powerful this genre can be when done in the right way. Their music is rough, hand-crafted, and uniquely their own, forsaking the last 50 or so years of technological achievements for something that is truly real in their own minds.

Up-and-coming label Stella Mortos, already known for their ability to pick winners (look no further than FOE and Entrepreneurs), will release the group’s single “Good Girl” on 14 May. It’s available to pre-order now.
