Whilst putting together this post, I ran through Piskie Sits’s EP The Way I’d Like To Go a few times, mentally ticking off what I fancy about the band. What strikes me most about the Wakey group is their seamless marriage of Americana and ’90s indie rock, something that the Idaho-based Built to Spill has always done quite well. This is definitely Perfect From Now On for a new millennia.

With a live resume that includes support for the likes of The Fall, Nine Black Alps, Times New Viking, The Research, Frightened Rabbit, Envelopes, and Wild Beasts, the band has several releases under their belt, including and an album entitled The Secret Sickness and a split EP with the Spills. They’re currently rehearsing with a slightly revised line up, amassing more new material for future releases and their set this spring at Long Division.
