This seems like a right fitting way to end Wakefield Week.

Rhubarb Bomb, the venerable Wakefield fanzine, is celebrating it’s five-year anniversary this year and to celebrate, they are releasing a compilation and book charting their history and that of the bands they’ve covered. Check out the Pledge Music campaign here. There are a lot of ways you as the average fan and punter can get involved.

They’re also the folks behind the Long Division fest, which has its second edition this year.

The compilation album will feature songs unique to this project, including The Cribs, The Research, Skint & Demoralised, Middleman, The Spills, Runaround Kids, Piskie Sits, Pylon, Lapels, The Old House, Mi Mye, St Gregory Orange, Protectors, Imp, The Whippets, One Day, After School…, The Passing Fancy, and more TBC.

The book also includes memorable interviews with such indie inspirations as: Mark E Smith (The Fall), Malcolm Middleton (Arab Strap) Luke Haines (The Auteurs), Emma Pollock (The Delgados), Eddie Argos (Art Brut), David Gedge (The Wedding Present) Emmy The Great and The Cribs.

See you at Long Division.
